& *the word 'draw' literally means to pull, and that is exactly what you do to sketch, you don't push,... Michaelangelo just pulled a piece of charcoal lightly onto his paper, gradually developing his drawing until all the parts fit together beautifully, he didn't attempt to draw something with total accuracy on the first try, no one can, you need a technique that will enable you to gradually build the drawing, that technique is Sketching. So, i am going to teach you how to sketch, draw, tone, then paint,... Great Design always starts with a sketch. Step-by-step approach, Visual demonstrations show you how to construct drawings from basic geometric shapes, how to correctly proportion the elements of your subject, how to accurately represent perspective, how to build and refine your drawings so they come to life... so they look real.
Each new skill learned builds upon the previous lesson,...
The greatest painters of all time first learned how to draw accurately with lines, then how to create depth with shade, and only then did they learn how to paint. The Art of Drawing, Part I, follows in the classic tradition by teaching you how to create accurate lines and shapes – the basic building block of all representational drawing and painting... Building upon those essential principles, in The Art of Drawing Part II, i will teach you how to make your drawings spring to life in three dimensions. After learning how to hold your pencil, Learning how to sketch, the whole idea is to develop the drawing gradually, much like a builder constructs a house, first he lays in a foundation, we lay in a rough sketch, and here's how: to begin, lay in a loosely done impression of the subject nonstop, hold on in a manner of seconds until you get something down on your paper, hold the pencil very lightly and hardly grasping it at all, so you can move rapidly about the sketch, so this is the way to go, nice and light and loose (ex: drawing a vase and orange) . Students should not hold their pencil as if they are writing trying to get a dark line drawing in the beginning of the sketch, a light blue sketch can easily be improved upon, as apposed to starting off a sketch with very dark lines, if you are an actor you wouldn't read your part once and perform it infront of an audience, you would read it once to get a rough idea of the part and then go over it again and again to perfect the part, only then would you go on stage. Even the brilliant then 19th century Edgar Degas used sketching as a foundation for his paintings. As you notice ballet dancer sketches of his, in this detail we can see that even a master like Degas had no problem with changing his mind and altering things at this stage. The begining sketching stage in light and proportion need time spent well on, because like the actor performing his lines, you want to perfect everything before you move on to the final performance. then in the final stage you can get into the aesthetics of your drawing and get in your details. And now you know how easy it is to learn how to sketch, review these notes as often as you like, practice, and have a great time.
my goal as your art teacher, is to create an environment, rich with creative energy, which will allow for the nourishment and development of each individual's own unique creative process. I believe that everyone deserves the real, fundamental basics of art. Students will explore a wide variety of subjects such as, here you will learn: how to shade, depict light sources, highlights and shadows, and how to refine your work so your pictures come alive, drawing faces, planets, shapes, shadows, architecture, nature, people, animals, Disney characters, creating themed environments, landscape painting, etc,...)
The Art of Drawing Courses represent more than a quarter century of painstaking research and watershed breakthroughs.
In short, the Art of Drawing Series teaches you how to really draw.
Learning how to draw has never been easier! Follow along with the lessons and practice in your workbook! with also special Thanks to Mr. Gluck.
